    Syracuse - Ithaca - Utica - Rochester - Buffalo - Albany/Hudson Valley

    Syracuse Area

    • Westcott Community Center
      826 Euclid Ave, Syracuse, NY 13210 -- (315) 478-8634
Booking policy: They only directly book acoustic shows. All other shows are put on by independent promoters who rent the space for $45 an hour, which does not include sound. They also require a $100 security deposit. Very limited availability for shows because of very high demand for community events.
Notable bookings: The Know How, Westbound Train, The B-3s, The Speakeasies, General Rudie, Skarmy of Darkness, Mexican Cession, Now Serving #38, The Blackouts, etc.
Former name: ECOH (Euclid Community Open House)
      Capacity: 100 (per written contract)
Notes: This community center is 7 blocks from the Syracuse University campus, at the corner of Euclid and Westcott and has hosted all ages ska, punk, hardcore, emo, etc. shows for 15+ years. It was originally a firehouse built around 1900 and the main room on the 1st floor originally housed the fire engines. No stage, but a very intimate atmosphere. Very popular space for bands that don't have a big following yet.

      • Stag Hotel -- 321 W Fayette St, Syracuse, NY 13202
Notable bookings: Westbound Train, General Rudie
        Capacity: 150
Notes: This Armory Square bar was actually part of an old hotel dating back 100+ years. Shows happened in the back, in the former dining room. Definitely a colorful place, somewhat seedy, but that gave it a certain charm as well. Was sold, completely remodeled and re-opened as "Half Penny Pub" in August 2003. Continues with live music, but no current interest in ska.
