Incidentally, Razbari Sumthing is confirmed to play the pre-party for this.

I also had a nice chat with Ben today about who he's working on. With a modest amount of luck, the lineup should get a lot more interesting. But I'm not going to say more than that, unlike some.

It's like any show, the devil is always in the details.

But its coming along well so far.

Karen, I hope you know I love ya. But you so obviously wanna spill the beans. :D

It's all good. Hopefully Ben will be able to announce the full lineup soon.

BTW, please reassure Matt Wixson that I'm serious about booking him. He seems to doubt it. I just feel very silly announcing a booking for June already, ya know?

If I wanted to spill the beans I would have.

Oh, Matt Wixson is also planning on doing a parking lot set at Ska Weekend before the gates open, so everyone get there early.

Rick Johnson and several others asked last year and Ben said no. Has Matt actually asked Ben if this is okay? If nothing else, Matt should play the barbeque by the hotel up the hill. It was a blast last year and I know Chris is going to do it again this year. The lot they used didn't seem to bother anyone. Just a thought.

I dunno, but I know Jay Tea did something similar throughout the day last year.

My pledge for Ska Weekend '06, if I make it down, is to not be smashed the entire day.

eh ive seen 3/4 of these bands within the last 5 or 6 months, some of them multiple times. the consensus among most of the jersey kids is that theres no incentive for us to make the trip. im still undecided. perhaps when the tba's start filling up

Ska Weekend is an amazing, indescribable atmosphere. I have seen most of those bands in the past year as well, but I am still planning on going down because last year's was one of the best weekends I've had.

NEW CONFIRMATION ON THE JUMP UP STAGE...should have 2 more this week (as long as everything goes as planned, one agent promised an answer this week, and another we are negotiating contract stuff)...the new confirmation is:

Bombtown - Plainfield, NJ
http://www.myspace.com/bombtown
http://www.bombtownnj.com

From their bio:
At a little shack apartment that we all call The Marlin old broken and abandoned bands collaborated in Leonardo, New Jersey. It started with a determined front man, Tom Weeks, to get something together coming from a fallen Jabsco Project. The need was for serious kids in the ska scene who knew how to play. Through some searching and changing around the collaboration was at hand with Matt (guitar) and Chris Pfaff (Bass, Formally of Vote No). Bill Malene (keyboard) also from Jabsco came along for the writing process. Soon after, things fell into place with new drummer Chris Kenny (Formally of Odd Man Out). Songs were written and the stage waited. One of the best up and coming ska bands of New Jersey was formed. Bomb Town Bitches!
It didn’t take very long for Bomb Town to find their niche. Starting with the local shows people were there to see Bomb Town. Additions and drops were made along a good year for the band. Unfortunately, the band lost Kenny to the Air Force in which he currently attends. In his place came the old drummer from Jabsco, Nick Scragg. Also in addition came the great saxophone from Professor Plum, Jen Desantis. A perfectly balanced sound of ska came along with this now well meshed group of musicians.
Bomb Town has played with such likings of The Slackers, The Toasters

go check them out...great band should add a different sound to that stage...i am pleased to have them on the show...go tell them hi on their myspace page
