This stuff rules. I think it's weird to have only one horn (especially when it's a trumpet) and I really think you should either add a horn or two or drop it. Regardless, I like what you've got going on.

We're looking for a low brass player, preferrably a bone or a bari sax, but you know how hard it is to find people who want to do what we're doinfg.

Anyways, thanks man, I'm glad you like it. =]

I don't think you should kick nick out, but I think you should teach nick guitar, and not have horns. your music, at least the new stuff, could easily sell itself as really good hardcore ska if you didn't have horns. If you did this, you might be one of my new favorite bands.

Definitely do something. One horn might work but you can't do it with a trumpet. That instrument carries absolutely no umph to it which you need, especially in a skacore band. Look at the Menace Society and how pitiful Amelia's trumpet sounded on "Still Stompin'". They eventually got rid of her and added a second guitarist and sounded soooooo much better.

Haha, the Menace Society! There's a blast from the past. The trumpet player in that band was awful- I remember Chris joined them on tenor sax for a while just to try and straighten their horn lines out.

Robbie, this stuff sounds good, definitely a lot of potential and you guys are definitely finding your sound. Though I totally agree on the trumpet thing, it sounds pretty awkward and out of place in what are otherwise rockin hardcore songs. It can be done (see later Against All Authority), but your trumpet guy's gonna be doing a lot of standing around. Another horn would help, but Aaron's suggestion of trading it for another guitar would be better. The ska side of things seems somewhat forced, but you've got the core down.

Thanks for all of your comments, guys. It's nice to have people actually say real stuff instead of just "IT SUCKS" or "IT'S AWESOME."

I'm considering that perhaps it's more of the actual parts Nick is playing, or even the way we recorded the trumpet that sounds odd. I am the one who writes all of the music and I don't really consider horn placement as much as I probably should. I really feel like in practice and at shows that it sounds good. (we actually get a lot of compliments on it?)

I told him today to start learning our stuff on trombone. I actually have a trombone sitting here in my dorm so that wouldn't be really problematic. I don't know how he would react to me telling him to play guitar instead of trumpet. He's actually a pretty decent guitar player as well, and has gear. However, I really want a horn or two in the band. The thing is, I want a bari sax or a trombone instead, and I cant for the life of me find anyone to f*ck do it. Finding people that play those instruments is difficult, let alone finding people who know what skacore is, or want to ruin their lives by touring and being in a band.

Who wants to volunteer? haha.

Anyways, we'll figure it out. We have lots of time.

wasn't actually referring to playing music so much as dicking around in a city I'm unfamiliar with, with familiar faces.
I played guitar in the gnarwhals, and I've been known to play bass.
also, I do vocals in Reckless Days, and I did them in The Last Battle.

For what it's worth, you're the best band I've heard who has a single trumpet as the horn section. I think instead of bari sax, trombone, or 2nd guitar, you should get an electric violin player.
