i can't wait for the squirrel nut zippers show- such a phenominal band. their album "Hot!" is one of my all time faves- i thought this band was finished, but i'm super excited for this show. NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH 90's REVIVIAL SWING! this band is soo much more- i heard them described as 1930's punk hot jazz, which i think is a pretty fitting description. they sound like they've been transported straight out of the 1930s, or tom waits was shipped back to the 1930s, i'm not sure which. also Andrew Bird used to be a part of this band, check him out- solo loop indie rock

The thing about the Zips is, I don't believe it's the whole old band - I believe the dude who was the creative driving force left and didn't come back (this is me remembering shit from a few years ago, so I could be wrong), but part of the band's still touring. I have a tough time getting behind that.
