Check out MAP from Quebec City, great punk/ska band along the lines of Capdown, all in French.

I'm liking this too. BTW, might it be Catalan and not Spanish? They sound a lot alike.

I honestly have no idea. The physical cd is in Rochester and if I remember correctly I couldn't make much out from the lyrics sheet.

Basically I got in to this cd during my I Like anything that is remotely ska phase and it is one of the few cds I like that is more trad.

Not another one of those damn over-exposed French cross-dressing ska bands. It seems like that's all that's out there these days.

ok so this topic is pretty old and i'm sure your project is dead and gone- but i just stumbled across this gem..

i guess in 1979 serge gainsbourg (notorious french sex musician object cigarette smooth) traveled to jamaica and recorded a reggae album. the backing band is legendary as far as reggae records go- he's got sly & robbie covering the rhythm section and the i-threes (rita marley, judy mogwat,& marcia griffiths) singing backup for him. i guess the record lashed out at the right wing french government at the time- he got a lot of grief for recording this album, and actually got bomb threats because of it- could be a cool record to translate the lyrics....

plus its f*ck serge gainsbourg crooning over rockers reggae!
here's a taste...
