stopped by this one last night because i had never seen the revamped space and i have played with dave and frank many times over the years. while i think some of the decor is tacky and overkill its 1000% better than the old planet armpit. band was too loud but sounded pretty tight for what they do, reggae infused rock. frank really is a genious on the guitar, but not consistent. a

It totally reminds me of the old Styleens downtown and I have a feeling thats intentional. Planet 505 never really made a serious effort to fix the place up and then they seemed surprised that it became a hippie hangout for awhile.

But don't you agree that Metro Lounge is seriously underutilized? I'm sure they have good nights, but most times I look in the window there is a sparse crowd, even for the live music. And I have a hard time believing they intended this. They just seem to lack a niche to call their own so far ...

well i think they knew students spend big$ on sushi, but with two sushi places on mstreet and two downtown
they may have missed the mark on cuisine choice, a

That may easily be a function of them taking so long to get the place opened ...
