Wonder if you can help me out here Rob mate?

I got a couple of modern trad ska CDs released on South American labels by Argentinian trad ska bands called Satelite Kingston (Una Isla album) and Dancing Mood (Dancing Groove album).

I love them and am wondering what other great trad ska bands there are playing in South America that you know about.

maybe you can throw what city/country he lives in at last.fm under the "events" tab. it won't give you a ton of stuff..but if anyone submitted shows, it will be there. You can stretch it out to include a radius ( ie. 1-whateva miles from him etc) as well to pickup more. It will be more than ska/reggae..but its a start.

ah yes... FIREBUG. key Brazilian ska/reggay group -- but they are not a trad band.

But he should frequent their shows and make us all jealous!
