II. While the Dub Is A Weapon crew is always excited to head out on the road to drop some heavyweight live dub, this weekend is especially exciting as this pair of shows are also a tune-up for our first trip into the recording studio in almost four years. We're happy to announce that we'll be heading to More Sound studios in Syracuse, NY to work with Jason "Jocko" Randall, the sound engineer best known for his live mixing of longtime reggae scenesters John Brown's Body. With a ton of new material and our strongest lineup to date, we have high hopes that this will be a heavy musical statement from the group...

very frustrating promoting local reggae shows online for free for like 10 years and no one tells me about anything. i saw them at ohm once or twice and while i wasnt wild about the
heavy guitar riffs i liked the dubwise stuff and sax n vocals and percussionist larry mcdonald is a legend. a

Shame. that is ridiculous that a band like this comes into town and no one knows about it. Especially that word doesn't get to the NY reggae mailer/webbie.

a, The riffs are a bit heavy in this project but tastefully done IMO. Though he doesn't hold a candle to MacDonald fame, Dave Hahn (former Slackers/Antibalas), the band leader and guitarist, is becoming a mini legend in his own.

Danny can attest as well - they tore the damn house down at Funk N' Waffles last time through. :rambo:

It's 21+ so you aren't missing anything.

And I'm on their mailing list and just got this as well. I have no idea if its a last minute gig or the band just didn't get around to telling us. They've played Funk'n Waffles twice now, so I guess this will be a change of pace.
