Cool. I've played your band and Beer 7 from Beersheva on my Sunday night radio show before. I try to include ska bands from all over and I've noticed that Israel definitely has a small scene, although my inability to read Hebrew has really slowed me down checking your bands out.

Are there any other ska bands in Israel right now worth checking out?

mannn i love the vocals! even though it's in hebrew it almost sounds french and german from the wait it's sung. i dig this stuff! kind of like metro stylee. mannn i miss them.

PS: i've lost just about all mp3s i used to have of metro stylee. anyone have some they could send my way?

I have the album and the demo that pre-dated it. I booked them to Skalloween III at Hungry Charley's. Great band, awesome people, lousy turnout.

For the record, they were supposed to open for Thumper, but ended up headlining. At least I still have their promo photo. :P

And to get back to the thread, I like "Do Like" the most of those 3 Cuban B songs online. Yeah, the vocals to our American ears are interesting. The song I played on my radio show was "Sabawap", which I had found online somewhere a long time ago.

Then maybe even a full length album of all your songs? :D

On a slightly different note, do ska bands from other countries ever tour Israel? I know non-ska artists do, but I was just curious if any ska bands have done so thus far and if so, who.

first of all, we are working on an album right now... procecing and producing the songs....

and to your question, i dont think any ska band ever came to israel.

israel is a very small country, and every scene is small too. the biggest punk band from israel are useless id. the have tons of fans worldwide but there practicly anonymus outside the punk-scene here.

so exept for the big guns like madonna, mettalica, michal jackson ext that somtimes visit us, there isn't a lot of touring going on here. its prety lame!!!!!!

Hey Dan - just curious, where in Israel are you guys from? My brother-in-law was a kibbutznik from the Upper Galilee.

My googling shows your city as a northern suburb of Tel Aviv. Nice looking city in the photo below.

Here's what I'm also finding for ska in Israel:
http://myspace.com/beer7 Beer 7 -- Beersheva ska-punk
http://www.myspace.com/loscaparos Los Caparos -- Tel Aviv reggae-ska
http://www.myspace.com/hoodska The Hoodska Explosive! -- Tel Aviv reggae-ska

I'll make sure to play some of this tonight on my radio show.

Interesting flyer too.
