That's happened to The Emersons before. One time, we sent around an email saying that we weren't playing. Another time, we were all free and we showed up and played. None of the other bands knew we were supposed to be playing either, so it was a surprise to everyone. It was kind of fun.

If its one of the Pantz Productions shows, yeah, apparently anyone can ask to be on any show and you just get put on. And they sometimes jump the gun and put you on without asking. That's how RazSum was "booked" to one of those shows. We told a kid in a band we'd like to play at Hamilton Street sometime, he told Kimberly and suddenly we're listed on the website for the venue. Oddest "booking" I ever saw.

NJ Chris said her first show looked pretty good, but I'd be curious how some of the rest of them turn out, given her rather unorthodox booking style.

I've heard some pretty shitty things about her.

yea tasb was sposed to play a show for her in june at the chance, but she over"booked" i guess if you can even call it that.. and then told us she was dropping us in favor of the more well known bands... whatever, it hasnt hurt our show count so im not stressin over it

We played a show with her Saturday. Decent turnout, things ran pretty smoothly, and she treated us great. She does seem to still be learning exactly HOW to put a show on (ie. not dropping bands, overbooking, etc) but overall I think she's doing an OK job and she'll figure shit out. I have no complaints.

The following is not meant to offend any band that plays her shows.

I may be biased since I'm not into Ska/Punk Fusion, but her shows have ceased to even make an interest with me. She seems to have the same lineups with no headliners, and zero promotion.

well, people came out. It might be a weird formula but it seems to be working to some degree.

You could put Travis and The Drum Farters (NJSka Joke) at a venue such as Bloomfield Ave or Hamilton Street and get a decent turn out.

The venue draws kiddos that want something to do, rather than the bands. Not that it matters too much.

I've always heard about venues like that, but never seen one firsthand. I know a lot of kids that assume the Westcott works like that, but I can readily assure you that's definitely not the case. When I used to work the shows all the time there, it was embarassing how many shows had 20 kids. Or less.

We just don't have all ages venues like that (Mezzanotte might be for the 21+ set) or enough bored rich kids, I guess, lol.
