Is anyone else going to this? I know that I'm picking up Twitch and Mike (and possibly Alex of The Hoboz) for it in Rochester on my way there. I can't offer any more carpooling-ness, but I was just wondering if I was going to see any other familiar faces while I'm there..

Any takers? It's one freaking rad lineup. I really can't wait to go. 8)

I have no idea if I can go to this or not. I gotta find out my schedule and stuff for work still and ask the rents. I should know by tonight if I can go.

Ahhh. Okay.
Well yeah Just talk to Twitch about it and I'll get the details of what's going on from him. I really hope that you can go though. It'll be a great time.

I hadn't seen this listed anywhere in Buffalo, but now that I'm aware of it I'll definatly try to make it out.

I know it's not my place to say this, but Bedouin is terrible live and Zox is just terrible all together.

Hey, thanks for the offer (this is Alex) but I'm not going tomorow. It should rock though.

Ya know, Matt, I usually agree with you on stuff, but I love Zox in every way, shape, and form. And, everyone else I know who has ever seen Bedouin has had nothing but good things to say about them...

Yeah, I love them Bedouin. I mean.. Jay has a tendency to forget the words to songs and he's surprisingly sloppy with his guitar playing (at least that's what I've noticed from every time I've heard a live recording or actually seen them) but overall I'd say they have a great live show.

:D :D :D I can't wait!!!

Bedouin are pretty boring live and the sound just feels kinda hollow. They don't have energetic music, but is also doesn't really have a solid groove to it, so there's nothing to really captivate people. But I do love their CD's. I saw Zox with Gogol Bordello a few weeks ago and just couldn't stand them... and I went in with an open mind, because I liked a few songs I heard by them a few years ago.

That's all.

How was it last night? I just won tickets to see State Radio and Bedouin at Milestones tomorow and I've never really listened to either of them before.

I went for Bedouin Soundclash and I enjoyed them and Zox. Zox was fun with a very energetic and friendly violinist, the sound guy was good about making sure we could hear him as well. I say more Motzart covers and they'd be golden, but the chemistry between the guitar and violin was very nice. Bedouin, I know it's a style for vocalists to skip words because they're too busy nodding there head but I would have liked stronger vocals. They definatly built up some intensity as the set went on and people were into it, I wish the crowd was more dancy though. State Radio played for an hour and a half, way too long and while some of their songs are catchy the long set and late hour overshadowed me caring about them for too long.

I thought it was awesome. Last night was the first time I've ever been able to see Zox live and I was happy.

Johanna was right when she said there were way too many non-dancing people there, though the place was so packed that even those who wanted to dance (such as myself) couldn't have any way.

Twitch introduced me to a lot of people that I've been hearing about for a while. I also managed to introduce myself to the guys of Zox and Bedouin, which was cool. Especially since after talking to both bands for a few minutes I was able to get myself a good round of hugs.

Bedouin was awesome as always; the intensity of the crowd was crazy at some points in their set. Yeah, it can be kind of annoying when Jay just drops words or doesn't know what he's singing or sings but it's not actual words, but I find it highly amusing so it didn't bug me too much.

I ended up leaving half way through State Radio's set. I kind of felt bad about it because I met Chad (way back in February when I drove down to Philly to see them with The Cat Empire and we had exchanged contact information and have half kept in touch since then, and I told him that I was going to be at the show tonight. But then I didn't stick around to talk to him afterwards. :?

But yeah. I think we left around 12:15am. I didn't even get home until 4am and then had to go to school at 8 today. Surprisingly though I wasn't all too tired. The whole trip ended up costing me $45 and a night without sleep, but it was totally worth it.

i thought the show was pretty good....i was a little angry about bedouin not selling their first cd at their merch stand. state radio was very laid back and to me wasn't anything special. i had more fun chatting with some crazy meph head than watching them. i just wish bedouin headlined. johanne sorry about not being able to give you a left yesterday, the kid who drove me is a jerk.
