karen said exactly what i was thinking. queens is not long island despite being on the same land mass. but, yes, usually "the city" does refer to manhattan. Queens is party of New York City though. If you lived here, you'd understand the drastic culture difference (and, actually, the accent difference).
But, yeah, unimportant. I'm getting used to it.
I'm pretty excited about the Billy Joel show on Saturday. But hold on, Justine, don't you have a show of your own going on saturday? Are you skipping your own show?
I'll be there with my girlfriend and my friend Allie. We probably won't run into each other because the place is huge, but if by chance you see me, definitely say hi.
I think I've showed my ignorance to you before.

At any rate.. Yeah, I've got my own show that afternoon. (Which you should go to!) But my show starts at 2:30 and should be over with by 6:00 at the latest. Billy Joel doesn't start till 8:00, so it works out perfectly.
My show will end, I'll have time to show EDENPARK where Downtown Manhattans is, and maybe catch some dinner with them, then head up to The Dome for Billy Joel. The show at Downtown Manhattans doesn't start until 9pm (I think) and there's 3 bands playing that I know of, so I'm hoping that I get out of the concert around the same time that EDENPARK gets out of Downtown Manhattans.
If not they'll have directions to my house --plus they're coming up Friday night so they'll have already been there -- and my dad and little sister will be home, not to mention Johnny will be with them. Long story short: we've got it all figured out.
