Rogue Booking And Productions

It took a lot of time, but it's finally finished. My very own booking and promotion agency has officially launched its new website.

We've also got a MySpace account, and you should totally add us as friends.

Also.. Come out to the very first local show!!

:D :D :D

Website: looks good, everything that should be there is there and works, although there is room for a wirehead to add functionality.

Myspace: Using the blog to list show swaps and flyers is an excellent idea.

But you already knew that from my comments there. :P

And find someone who knows a little graphic design/CSS programming to spruce up your profile. Nothing fancy, just enough variation to give it an identity of its own. (Do as I say, not as I do :P I'm still learning CSS)

It needs more links to Rochester Ska.

Or at least one.

Hahahahaha.

Yeah, I was going for the actual new kids on the block idea when you opened the thread. Hah.

Anyway, Mike.. I'm working on coming up with some good excuse to put in links to other booking/promotion people right now. Got any ideas?

Maybe it can just say "Friends" or something like that..

Done.

I've liked to Syracuse Ska, Kingston Beat Productions & Rochester Ska so far. I'm gonna add a few more though before I get back to my homework.

:D

for bands and promoters with websites and myspace profiles, may I suggest this format? (shamelessly borrowed from JayceLand)

Quote:

(the graphic is formatted for use on a black background. Feel free to copy it to your webspace if you decide to use this format)

The promo materials section's a good idea (I expect you'll post print-quality flyers and press kits when you have 'em.) For band photos and logos, may I suggest a web-friendly size on the page that you can click through for a print-size file? I know stuff like that makes my graphic design work so much easier.

Can do sir. I'm working on it. It's crazy though, because my web guy (Dan) is going out of town for a while and won't be able to help me with the site, so I'm trying to learn as much about the content management program he has set in place before he heads out.

Give me a week or so to have everything all set up.

a couple things i would do with the site (its constructive criticism!):
- on the bands page for instance, your main navigation is only on the site, when it would be pretty useful to make that page have the same links instead of just directing you to the side to click them. it makes it look less empty and adds some functionality
- you might want to consider organizing the tour dates page the way the bands page is set up, because its a little confusing with the jumble of text.. or perhaps add a menu on the top of the page that links to the band name later in the page (using an anchor) or perhaps using a band logo instead of bolded text... when you use a lot of bolded text it doesn't stand out as much anymore
- the links page might work better if it was just one page with headers instead of 4... the fewer clicks the easier the site is to navigate

thats all i have to suggest, but other than that it looks pretty good and navigates pretty well.

Alright..

I can't figure out how to anchor the links for the Tour Dates page, but I'm going to write to Dan tonight and ask him how to do it/if he can do it for me.

The links page can't be changed either, which is really annoying, I know.

The bands page has been changed so that there's something to fill in that void.

And I'm working on linking to both the main websites as well as MySpace sites now..

Yay for websites!!
