It's almost 4am on Saturday morning here off Westcott Street and I just discovered there is a RAVE going on right now at the Westcott Community Center. DJ spinning techno and a light show. Less than 20 people when I went by at 3:30am, but who knows how many may show up later?

Supposedly a legit rental, but whoa, one of their oddest ever ...

No, the odd thing was where it was held. Not quite as bad as a rave at a church, but almost ...

It seems like it was a poorly put on rave...sort of just like a party.
GAC usually puts on fantastic raves.

I threw a rave in a church once.

It wasn't really that much a rave, just my friends and I making fun of hardcore dancing in front of a strobelight while the matrix soundtrack played in the background.

All this under a picture of the evilest-looking Jesus ever.

I know, but some of it is.

Besides the whole point of it was that it wasn't a real rave. You really aren't supposed to throw raves in a church while you are on a church retreat. It is probably blasphemous.

Not if you are listening to a techno-rap done by miss Joyce Myers, and experimanting with the drug that gets you high, high on god that is.

I've described some of my favorite shows as "religious experiences".

Obviously, that's broadening the definition, but I don't see how it's that different. It's like-minded people coming together and sharing a deeply emotional event.
