 Post subject: Question- What Site Keeps You Up To Date On The World Of Ska

Unfortunately, a lot of the info concerning ska on the WWW at this point is pretty outdated, especially as many sites which dominate my Google search mysteriously stopped being updated sometime around 1999-2000. Very Strange.

But there is lots of good, up to date info out there. I just know there is. What are your favorite sources for up to date and high quality info on the scene, and good live links and forums (besides this excellent one).

(I ask this in part because i stumbled upon a very well run and professional quality site, which i have since lost the URL of. I'm a moron).

Mostly http://punknews.org.

http://skapunkandotherjunk.com covers the stuff that falls through the cracks, and once in a great while, news searches for ska turn up gems on Google and Yahoo.

But the main thing is all those resources have RSS feeds - makes trawling through them a lot faster.

I get my info pretty much through here as far as ska news goes...otherwise I hear anything else word of mouth. I haven't ever checked those news sites that cater to "alternative" genres. IE punknews etc. Mostly cause the few times I've looked I never saw news that I cared about.

You have to sift a fair amount. Ska-related articles are about 1-in-10 on punknews.org, but that's where I found the Westbound/Hellcat story, ASOB release date, etc etc.

Thing is that it goes in fits and starts, like there are seasons for touring and album releases.

In December, it seemed like every other Punknews article was some band I never heard of breaking up. :P
