June 17th, Dale Miller is proud to present... Culture Featuring Kenyatta Hill with Special Guest Corey Harris
Beginning with the release of the mythic Two Sevens Clash (Shanachie) in 1977, Culture has defined roots music. Born in the 70's golden age of reggae, the band has released over 28 albums and garnered continual U.S. and international acclaim. The spirit of Joseph Hill, the band’s beloved co-founder and vocalist, shines through in the charismatic presence and sound of his son Kenyatta Hill.
Corey Harris’ fearless music carries the tradition of classic African-influenced blues music into the 21 century and celebrates the seamless interplay of cultures through sound. Harris was featured on the acclaimed 2003 PBS television mini-series The Blues in an episode directed by Martin Scorsese and his nine acclaimed albums include the landmark Mississippi to Mali (Rounder), an album fusing blues music from northern Mali . Dale Miller is honored to present Harris backed by Culture in tonight’s special performance.The Garden Terrace at Dale Miller will feature 2 bars plus casual style food at the grill. Cover charge will be $10 per person. All persons must be 21 years and over - A valid NYS ID must be presented and will be checked at the door.
