Body:

Greetings, Stubborn Massive! We're really getting into this gorgeous Spring Season, and it's showing this week with the latest additions to the 830+ items we already have on http://www. stubbornrecords. com! We've got a brightly-colored new t-shirt design and some upbeat, positive new music for you. Plus, as always, we're heaping love and respect upon you to warm you up inside, while the outside temperature increases as well.
Read on and see for yourself!

VERSION CITY JAMAICA

Prince Alla - We No Want No Bomb b/w Dread No Want No Bomb 7" single (Jamaican Import) Here's another big Version City Jamaica label release! This time it's legendary Roots singer Prince Alla laying down a passionate vocal over the Fortitude Riddim. This is our 8th release on the Fortitude Riddim! Prince Alla has had many hits on classic roots riddims on the Freedom Sounds label in Kingston, Jamaica. He's been around since the 1970's, but his voice is as strong now as it ever was. On this brand new tune, Prince Alla sings lyrics calling for peace and unity in these times of war and violence all over the world. His voice is strong and gospel-tinged, oozing with feeling, but smooth and re-assuring. The b-side is an acoustic Nyabinghi drum version.
Wicked!

T-SHIRTS

Beverley's Records Label - 2-sided (2 Colors on Red) T-shirt Here's a brand new T-shirt based on the design from one of the greatest Jamaican Ska and Reggae record labels of all time. The Front of the shirt contains the graphics you'd see on an actual record on the Beverley's label.
The back contains the names of all of the amazing artists who had hits on the label, including Bob Marley, Desmond Dekker, The Maytals, Jimmy Cliff, Derrick Morgan, and many more! We're offering it to you for a limited time at an extra-low sale price!

King Django - Magical Djangoburger T-shirt

SKA AND PUNK CD'S

Sonic Boom Six - The Ruff Guide to Genre-Terrorism CD If you haven't heard England's Sonic Boom Six, it's time to get hip to them. Few bands can so smoothly mix dancefloor-savvy elements of reggae, jungle and ska with the rigorous commentary of hip-hop whilst retaining enough grit and aggression to be an active fixture of the UK's punk scene. Check out ‘Sound of a Revolution' for the Boom in an instant – fluid grime vocals laid over a bass-heavy skank, detonated with a blast of female-fronted punk-rock.

The Flaming Tsunamis - Fear Everything CD The Flaming Tsunamis mix hard-hitting super-fast hardcore with up-beat ska in a mind-blowing way. They've been rocking the Northeastern US for years, and recently went overseas to spread their brand of musical mayhem. If you haven't checked them out yet, this CD is a great way to start.

Cuban B - Vol. 1: Hero Wannabee'z CD (Israeli Import)

Shem's Disciples - Sow Melodic CD

JAMAICAN IMPORT VINYL

Various Artists - Ride Me Donkey: Solid Gold From Jamaica LP (Jamaican Import) If you're looking for a good compilation with a mix of rare and popular rocksteady and early reggae hits, this is it! This is Studio 1 at its finest. The tunes are mostly up-beat, and they all have incredibly tight grooves. The artists on this compilation include Ken Boothe, Marcia Griffiths, Heptones, Jackie Mittoo, and more! We're talking all-stars at the height of their powers. This is a really cool, RARE Jamaican-pressed LP that is fun to spin from the first song to the last.

Derrick & Patsy - National Dance b/w Derrick Morgan - Let Me Go 7" single (Jamaican Import) Now here's an awesome example of some fast-paced Jamaican ska! The A-side is a duet by the famous duo of Derrick Morgan & Patsy Todd, whose voices went together like Peanut butter and Jelly. It's from the time of Jamaican independence, making it a very early Ska single.
The flip side is Derrick Morgan singing over a very true scorching Ska beat! Both of these songs are very rare, and were hard to find before they were put together on this Jamaican-pressed 7" single!

The Skatalites - Lawless Street / King Sporty - Lawless Street (DJ Version) LIMITED EDITION 7" BLUE VINYL (Jamaican Import)

Bob Marley and The Wailers - One Love b/w Version 7" single (Jamaican Import)

Barrington Levy - My Woman b/w Dub 7" single (Jamaican Import)

Ranking Slackness (General Echo) - Slackest LP Vinyl LP (Jamaican Import)

We re-stocked a bunch of t-shirts!

Rocksteady Explosion - (4 Colors on Light Blue) T-shirt

Version City Ivan - (White on Black) T-Shirt

The Slackers - Trombone Design (White on Black) T-Shirt

King Django - Roots and Culture (Four Colors on White) T-Shirt

Version City - Ivan (White on Black) 2-Sided Zip-Up Hoodie

We're proud once again to be releasing big tunes in Jamaica and all over the world on our Jamaican-based Version City label. It's truly an honor to work with a legendary artist like Prince Alla.
He has influenced so many reggae singers, including some with releases on Stubborn, like Predator of the Predator Dub Assassins.
We hope you get as passionate about it as we do! Who'd have thought a little ol' American-based Ska label would end up releasing popular tunes by their Jamaican heroes in Jamaica? We're hoping to continue this fun musical adventure with the artists, and especially with you guys.
Thanks for your continued support!!!!
