is there any recordings laying around, like from 'no refund' , Sweet Jeebaz, CDC, or any of those earlier bands. I heard a little from skatos but theres not much on there and i think its kind of interesting. I heard some cdc a few years back and it was really cool

Nah, Cletus Doesn't Care, they were a ska band from Skaneateles who were most popular around 2001-2002.

Sweet. I don't think I was ever really aware that Skatos had a last show or planned that The Pietasters was it. I didn't really know there was a last CD either; when they were around I remember the cool thing to have was the very first CD because it sold out ages ago.

Actually, given the great curiosity of the newer, younger kids and the wealth of old material available, I was planning to release a "History of Syracuse Ska & Reggae" later this year. I have recorded gems by just about every band you find listed on the history of Syracuse ska bands page -- make sure you scroll ALL the way down!

There are only a few bands on there I never saw and I have access to recordings, including many never released, by most of the bands listed on that page. :P

Like, just a compilation CD? or a complete anthology of those bands, all wrapped in one nice nifty neat package?

i think that would be an awesome idea, because yesterday i was looking around for some mp3s on like dogpile and some of the skatos songs are amazing. I couldnt find any saaa or sweet jeebaz or no refund. Does too hectic still have cd's out there?

I have Saaa. Not sure about No Refund, but I can look.

"Viva Chez Slack" by Too Hectic seems to be still floating around online for sale now and then, if you look. I also have the compilation they're on and the MySpace are the unreleased songs.

Most interesting thing I have is Wesley Rogers Band album from 1987. It's pretty good, although definitely of that era. I'm also proud to own a very rare demo of Douglas Leader Orchestra with their first single "Della" on it that was never released (its a long story). Joe plays on that and as part of Cenzo now and he was amazed I have that demo. I also have the demo from Sacrelicious, which is what Grif did before The Operatives.

Have to correct something:

Sacrelicious consisted partly Grif, Davo, Al, & Chris of Amy Ryan and The Operatives.

probably some other shit laying around too from bands that are long since out of my memory... i'll see what I can dig up when I visit my parents in June.
