I'll have a couple different flyer designs up for this soon.

Also, tickets will be for sale starting next Wednesday.
There will be some available on Friday Feb. 17th at the show at the Westcott that night.

Danny, I know it's not a ska show, but is there any way I can get a sticky for this?

I get the preview night part but why is it the ska opener preview night?

The Inner JD, Marty!, and The Emersons are all interested in opening for some of our ska shows. The idea is that kids will come out to see a show of these bands, and then the next day we'll put a poll up here to see who people liked and want to see on more shows.

The bands won't actually be opening a ska show, but they'll basically be performing so we can get a feel for them and hopefully ask them to play again on one of our ska shows. Hence, it is a "preview" night.

Obviously, now that we know Danny is planning something for the same night it might not work that way. But I can hope for the best, right?

If Danny announces his show soon enough, and you have some flexibility, maybe run yours earlier so people could have the option of attending both?

Actually I'm going to write to all the band tonight and see if they'd mind.

I mean.. because even as it is. The guys of EDENPARK and Marty! would have to play first, and then leave early because they're playing a show together at Downtown Manhattan's later that night..

Also, I'm going to *try* to get a one of our local high school ska bands on the bill. I talked to Danny tonight and he's right when he says that it can't really be justified having this show listed on the SyracuseSka site because there aren't any ska bands on it.

I'm working on it. We'll see what turns up.
But anticipate the show being moved back 2-3 hours; I've already edited the original post to say the time is TBA.
Be ready for another band being added to the bill as well.

(This is cRazY)

That doesn't stop him from listing reggae, dancehall and dub shows, and there's at least as much audience crossover between ska and punk as those other genres, if not more. But whatever, it's his site.

I'm thinking of opening up a sister site to roc-ska.com, because my focus is growing wider, in terms of geography and genre.

That's assuming I get the main site (and my coding skills) up to snuff first. :P

Good call, it's six weeks off, so there's no real rush. Hell, I haven't announced final details on the Skannotto release party yet.

...

Hmm, we're a little more than a month away. I need to get cracking on that...

Oh I know I've got plenty of time, but I'd just like to have the details figured out well ahead of time.

Plus I want to start flyering/selling tickets/announcing this show to a wider audience by next Friday at the Westcott show.

Yeah. I've already gone out and bought the stuff. I just need to figure out the final details before I get them printed out.

Thanks Mike!

The Secret Ions would really love to play this show if indeed you do decide you need a local ska band on the bill. By the time the two of us that are going get back from germany it will be 2 months since we've played anything other than school functions, and by the time this show rolls around it will have been almost 3 months. So we'd love to play it!

Alright.. Well we totally forgot about something, though Danny did point it out earlier.

March 25th is the night of the Billy Joel concert at The Dome.
Apparently the guys of The Inner JD also forgot about it, though luckily they've realized that there's a conflict since they have tickets way ahead of time.

The Inner JD has dropped off the show, unfortunately.

However
, I am in the midst of getting another band (a SKA band) to play.
:D

More news to come..
