NICE FIND!!

For a variety of reasons, there aren't a lot of academic works about ska music and most of them deal with either the earliest forms in Jamaica or the big 2 Tone movement in England and nothing more. I've stumbled over the years into several unpublished master's and doctoral thesis works (one guy was even nice enough to send me a copy of his), but it appears Heather is legitimately publishing academic works about all forms of ska, which is great.

I'd also like to see people take her research and take it a few more steps forward, which is how any serious subject gets better coverage. This music has a great back story and a lot of us haven't done a great job of documenting that very well. This is someone who clearly is making a great effort in that regard.
