I was running errands today on the Stella.
Going to Price Chopper on Erie Blvd was no problem, though the wind was crazy gusty.
Got home and dropped off the groceries. It was still 39F and the snow bands well north of Syracuse, so I went out on another errand to Lowes. And while I'm inside waiting for the paint department to finish my order, heavy lake effect started coming down fast and furious. Like I had to literally brush off an inch of snow from my scooter in the parking lot. It was still above freezing at that point, but let's just say the ride home was a lot more interesting than I bargained for. I could feel the temperature dropping, but I didn't dare ride too fast, ya know? At the very end when I got back onto East Genesee around the corner from my place, the road was getting slippery and I was literally using my sneakers for proper balance.
This was the weather report 5 minutes after I got inside:
No harm done, but a valuable lesson learned!
