For the record, female-fronted pop-punk bands work well on ska shows. We've had several and one later became a ska band after the fact.

Most of them don't, which is fine.

I'm not entirely sure why, but it seems far more acceptable to like a pop-punk band than a pop-ska band, even though its arguable they're largely the same thing, with just a dance beat added.

Bands like no co arent really known on wide scale.

People consider that stuff pop punk nowadays.

Whether you or i agree with it people consider that pop punk.

specifying that it wasn't punk wasn't splitting hairs..but that certainly is. I am not sure I could tell ever the difference between what people consider power pop and indie these days...it all sounds indie to me. These days, everything is over classified anyhow -- you start whateva band you like...maybe the genre should be "not ska"?

genre's are very mismatched nowadays. Even hardcore which was so basic is over classified i think the only thing that still truely "exists" is ska and punk. I mean you hear a punk band now even like no followers you know they're a punk band and you hear a band like the robobuddies and you know there ska. Here my hardcore band and people classify it into this little group. Genres are dumbz

You should have just said "Who wants to start a band that sounds like shit"

While Forever the sickest kids and All Time Low suck, Paramore is pretty cool.

I would play, but I'm in Buffalo...not Syracuse.

Interested to see how this turns out.

And yeah I don't consider these bands pop punk, more emo pop/pop rock.
