I am extremely excited to see The Flaming Tsunamis again. This is looking like it's going to be an excellent show.

can they really be "on Kill Normal" if they started the label?

I always wondered the significance of it. If I had a record label name for the stuff I released, people wouldn't list that as if it were an accomplishment.

there are other good bands on the label, so i'd consider it legit. it's just weird that they started it and they're listed as being "on" it.

Maybe. I still think it's weird in general to list a self-run label as a credential of sorts.

nofx is on fat mike's label, and less than jake just started their own label that caters exclusively to them(for now). i think its totally legit as long as your putting out records on the label.

I think Aaron's argument is that you're not "on" a label if you run it. In the NOFX song "60%" Fat Mike sings "we're the band with our own label", like the label is an extension of the band, not vice versa. It's just semantics, really. Reel Big Fish's first album, Everything Sucks, was released on Piss Off Records, which is a company the band themselves made up for the self-released album. They weren't really "on" Piss Off Records, they were Piss Off Records.

I'm pretty pumped for this show myself.
Plus, it's two days before my 18th birthday. So I'm gonna get down and dirty fools

Not our ideal, obviously. But this is typical of summers when practically every band tries to tour at the same exact time, to work around varying college schedules. We get a smaller rush at Christmastime for the same exact reason.

As it is, we're still turning away far more bands than we're booking, even with all these summer shows. And I think some of the bands we're turning away would be interesting and fun, but we have to draw the line somewhere, ya know? :|

And for the record, we try to combine band requests whenever possible. Many of these bands originally asked for slightly different dates, but adjusted to fit a bigger touring band. Its a complicated process.

Please note that Magic Goat is taking the last open slot on this.

We had a LOT of bands ask to play this show, including locals (mostly non-ska). This will be one of only two shows this summer for Magic Goat, the 2nd one being when Alex gets back in August, so this seems more than fair, plus they definitely bring the Fayetteville-Manlius crowd out.

I like how we pulled off a very different band mix for this one than usual.

Twitch, we're actually back to 100 percent. We picked up a new bassist and practiced him up. Frans just kind of blindsided us with that and refused to play that show, which kind of sucked. But we're good and we're already writing with our new guy, so I'm pretty happy. Financial stuff might mess with tour, but other than that we're gonna be kicking and good.
