4. George Marshall - Arthur Kay & The Originals 4:07 Tribute to the
founder of Zoot! - first international ska fanzine in the Eighties
through 15 issues, printed on 3 continents. Has since published
Skinhead Times newspaper (early '90s), wrote One-Eyed Jack (mid-90s),
Pulped, Terrace Banter (1996-2001), + STPublishing books like
Specials, Madness, Bad Manners histories, Boss Sounds and Spirit of
'69.

5. Street Feeling - The Selecter 3:14
Also name of Specials biographer Paul Williams' 2Tone-era mag. From

6. Rudy, A Message To You - Dandy Livingstone 2:49
Also Stefan, Rikard and Heinrik's marathon fanzine from Sweden, which
I can't read, started Stockholm 1991. We fight on Ebay over records

7. One Step Beyond - Prince Buster's All Stars 2:54
Another Swedish publication, this time from the city of Lund and
written in English late nineties by Niklas Bergstrand. From One
Original Step Beyond (Castle Communications, UK 1993)

8. Banana - E.K. Bunch 2:12
Before the Aggrolites popularized this track to the toddlers of
America in the summer of '07, Don Bruno Ferrari in Brno, Czech
Republic has released 5 tremendous issues (x2 languages) of Banana
fanzine, each with a corresponding CD compilation! From Original Ska /
A Night at the Hop (Hudson Vandam USA / Spirit of 69 Records GER)

9. Everything Crash - The Ethiopians 2:33
Glen Smyth of Dizzybeat fame in Sydney Australia had a magazine by
this name in 2003.

10. Can Your Monkey Do The Dog - Rufus Thomas 2:29
Certainly the longest-running and most consistent bulletin in all the
globe belongs to sometime-Bakesys keyboardist and label boss, Mr.
Kevin Flowerdew. Quarterly coverage since 1989. From The Best Of Rufus
Thomas: Do The Funky Somethin' (Stax/Rhino, 1996)

11. Do The Dog - Syko and The Caribs 2:14

12. Black And White - Mr. Beautiful 4:38
You can't begin to talk about ska/ reggae fanzine history in USA
without mention of Django, Jessica and his Stubborn typewriter. Its
NYC roots stretch all the way back to 1984, a dozen Rude Awakenings,
xeroxes which interview such luminaries as Jerry Dammers, Bucket,
Fishbone and the Unity 2. The Maytones and Greyhound also covered this
Three Dog Night smash hit of '72. From VA Mash It Up Volume 3 (DVS
Media, 1994)

13. Easy Life – The Bodysnatchers 3:13
Megan Gerrity published a newsprint version of this [up to #8] in NYC
96-98 before taking it to the easy-option interweb, and who can blame
her? From The 2 Tone Collection (2CD Chrysalis, 1993)

14. Ska-A-Go-Go - Bluekilla 2:51
From Ska-A-Go-Go (Artysan Germany, 1996)

15. Ska-Au-Go-Go - Rolando Alphonso & The Soul Brothers 2:28
Kelly Thacker and Kyle Hickenbottom did this magazine out of Mission
Viejo CA in 2002, before helping Chris with Ska World and sweetly
serenading us. From the original Ska-Au-Go-Go (Studio One, 1967)

16. The Dark End Of The Street - Pat Kelly 3:17
Also a digest-sized skinzine by Melissa & Ryan out of San Luis Obispo CA, 2002.

18. Missing Words - The Selecter 3:24
A newer xeroxed zine to come from Robert Dyrnes up in Tromsø, Norway.
Again, written in the vernacular. From Too Much Pressure

19. Bring Back The Skins (Reprise) - Judge Dread 2:14
"Every Wednesday, the papers came out – the Record Mirror, best thing about"

JAV! I got a driveby tap on the shoulder and nod by John at the Skatalites show over the weekend downtown. I dig the concept behind the song selections for this one - very fitting of Vaccaro, considering his obsession with fonts and print media. Cheers!
