Ben of Perfect Orange, who is the primary organizing genius behind Ska Weekend, is based in Knoxville TN and that's where they've been and will continue to be held. He explained to me that 2005 was the 3rd one. But Ben has avoided numbering them, but #1 was 2 days at a club in Knoxville, while the last 2 have been outside festivals. 2004 was a big public square like our Clinton Square in downtown Syracuse called Market Square. For 2005 it was held in an area called the Old City, which is a lot like our Armory Square. It was centered on a closed off street, something like Walton Street.
I know Ben really loved the Old City setting a lot, so expect him to do it again there next year ...
BTW, this is merely one of MANY ska festivals being held around the country lately. I'll try to report on more of them in the future ...
