O'Callaghan's had Mountain Mojo Authority a couple Saturdays ago, and they were letting unders in for a surcharge (I would expect it to be 18+, though.) I will inquire directly.

Bad news...

Giant Panda Guerrilla Dub Squad is kicking off their new weekly show at O'Callaghan's with Dub Is A Weapon tomorrow night.

But.

O'Callaghan's is 21+, unless the event is outside (which this one is not,) in which case they say it would be 18+.

The Mountain Mojo show was a fluke. :(

But if you're of age, show starts at 9, five bucks.

Wait, is Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad the band that the guy from Mrs. Skanatto (who was at that meeting) is in? I'd like to see them sometime.

No, he was in Mountain Mojo Authority. Or is, rather.

I was there for 3/4 of D.I.A.W.'s set. This was my thrid time seeing them and they were fantastic as always. Their brand of up-beat, militant dub is really easy to groove to and keeps interesting. I didn't stick around for Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad's set. Last time I saw them I got bored after the first couple songs. Good band, but they get boring after a while.

Oh yeah, Buford O Sullivan was on trombone last night. Man, that guy can play.

How do the recordings of DIAW compare to their live show?

The studio album Dub is a Weapon put out if pretty good. Some tracks are better live, some are better on the album. There is some excellent dub-mixing techniques on the studio album that obviously can't be reproduced live. Check out their website, there are some free tunes on there; both live and studio recorded.
