1) Steven, aka Twitch, cranky old man (26) of Rochester

2) In 2003, I was being bored in a coffee shop, and a friend said there were some cool bands playing around the corner that night. It was the Slackers, the Blackouts and Amy Ryan and the Operatives. Blew the doors wide open for me.

3) the Slackers, the Aquabats, the Toasters, Westbound Train, Madness, the Specials, Mrs. Skannotto, The Glow

4) the infectious energy. I have yet to find anything nearly as much FUN as skanking the night away.

5) March 2004, hopped on a bus to see the Slackers in Buffalo. Didn't know anybody in town or where the venue was, but that didn't stop me. Between openers, I went out for a smoke, and I saw a group of people, all doing the "where's my lighter" dance. So I whipped out my Zippo. Instant gang, just add fire.

Wandered around town with members of Skarmy of Darkness before their final Syracuse show, then danced to the brink of exhaustion. Kinda sad that I'll never see them again, but that one night was perfect.

After seeing the Aquabats last year, I was drenched in sweat and had a couple hours to kill before catching the bus home. The A/C in the station was ridiculously high, so I went for a long walk. Not much fun to live through, but it must've looked pretty funny, a lone punk wandering downtown Buffalo in the middle of summer, teeth chattering.

1.) I'm Jeff, I'll be a senior next year at Onondaga Central, I play trumpet for the Bill Reilly Enigma.
2.) In 6th grade my student teacher was the sax player for short round, I knew him as Mr. Hauser.
3.) My favorite ska bands are operation ivy, the specials, streetlight manifesto, catch 22.
4.) That it actually exists, unlike some other scenes, there are actually ska shows consistently going on with good bands playing at all of them.
5.) The Westcott Show with too short notice was pretty cool, a ton of people and great bands made for a really good time.

1) Kyle, gonna be a sophomore at Marcellus, tromboner of the bill reilly enigma
2) My brother got some cd's and I just started listening
3) Streetlight, Planet Smashers, Mustard Plug, TSC, Catch22(before everybody cool left the band), The Aquabats, and my newest favorite: The Cohorts
4) I like that kids support the local bands. Cuz if the kids cant get support from the other kids, then who is gonna support those kids!?
5) Ska is Dead I, when the Planet Smashers paused during "Surfin' in Tofino" so some guy could proposed to some chick. That was pretty righteous.

Hey, elitist from...Millford? :?

Well, I can tell you that the you think you're so f*ck impressive, get your name on a f*ck guest list, raise your nose to the people in line, give the door man a high five vocal break is 10x more amusing when you were on the guest list for the show...

Finally someone got the reference. Actually when I posted it I was like, "I bet Danny will be the only one who gets it."

1) Anna "the giantess", Fayetteville-Manlius, I sing for Magic Goat!!!
2) My first show was about 2 years ago...when i was "convinced" to go by my fellow bandmates (but before they were...ooh tricky). I had listened to ska as a kid, but a live show got me hooked
3) I grew up on the Supertones and the Insyderz, but now I'm also a fan of Razbari Sumthing, The Benefits, Too Short Notice, The Planet Smashers (we even got our DJ at our senior prom play "Super Orgy Porno Party" for us....a definite hit) and a whole bunch of others that I cant think of right now
4) I love the people. Everyone is so nice and there's no feeling of competition...just wanting to have some fun, sweat a lot, and play some great music!
5) I love it when fans get really into the music. My favorite shows were at our school's Showboat and we had some kids dance on stage during our song and also at Onondoga High School where the entire audience got out of their seats and danced around US! It was truly the most amazing thing I have ever seen! :D
