I'm Aaron. I'm from Western Mass. I like skacore.
I play sax for Marx Revolution, ska/metal from CT.

I book shows in MA and CT, so hit me up if you're in the area.

Do you have a MySpace or website for the shows you book?

1) names nik, i live in purgatory, aka florida
2) I got into ska thanks to this kid in one of my brothers bands back when i was in 4th grade, he was an RBF junkie, and it just brused off
3) Where to start on favorites.... OCG, Streetlight, RBF, Planet Smashers, Mu330, Mustard Plug, Big D, Spring Heeled Jack, The Smooths, The Scholars, Mephiskapheles, Cherry Poppin Daddies, Buck O Nine, Blue Meanies... i could go on for a while.... (Oh and ASOB)
4) what dont i like :P
5) Havent been to to many shows, i usually dont have enough cash to go, but it was pretty funny at a AAA show seeing this stoner kid pass out and get skanked on in the circle pit

ok, so I'll get this introduction thing out of the way...I live in Rochester, where I was born and raised. I've been into the ska scene here since about 2001, which feels like the old days now. I was gone for college for a while but now I'm back and working at a TV station in town.

I've never been in a band myself but as my final college project for my Journalism degree I made a documentary about ska...it's titled Still Rude, Still Reckless, Still Standing: Ska's Evolution in the 21st Century. Bands included are Mile 21, Tri-State Conspiracy, Bomb Town, King Django, The Flaming Tsunamis, Mrs. Skannotto and Westbound Train. It also includes interviews with HV Ska's Joe Rude and a music writer from Burlington VT.

My favorite ska bands are The Slackers, Mile 21, old school Less Than Jake, Streetlight Manifesto, and many many others. I also have been a long time fan of punk, indie and lots of other styles.

I'm looking to get back into the scene and posting on this board is one of the best ways to do that here in good old Western NY. Take care everyone.

1) HI, my names Analise, Im a loser and a cheater: i dont live in NY, i live in GA but im trying to find a ska forum/site i like so bear with me, uhhhh im 16 and rude till death, i like talking to random people so holla!

2) Well, my mum is Jamaican so i guess ive alway grew up listening to dancehall, and slowing emerging into a third wave ska obsession thus completes the Rudest Girl in Peachtree City, GA.

3) Deffinatly Reel Big Fish, Big D, The Specials, Mustard Plug, The Flaming Tsunamis Etc.

4) since there is a ska scene of about a 5 person population here its all chill. The Punks and Skins and the Rude kids keep the unity real.

5) Wow, uhm, deffinatly the skanking. and the drunken fools and the mostly the music. But o more likely just chill out in the parking lot of shows since im tight and broke.

My cousin lives in the ATL. I go down there around every summer. I remember going down there about 3 or 4 years ago and seeing The Aquabats. Him and I were the only ones who were dressed up though. It was still a fun time I remember.

It's too hot in the ATL anyways.

But welcome.
