Curious what any of you think about this punk-funk-ska outfit out of Albany. Jay from Public Access highly recommends them and they want very badly to play an all ages show in Syracuse.

Here are their sound files: Honeycreeper downloads

They seem very jammy to me, which worries me ...

So what do any of you think???????????????

Not for a ska show, kind of boring to me and more reggae influence if anything and only because of the sax. On their website it says they want to play high schools? Weird self bio.

The band is awesome. Variety on shows is never a bad thing, and I have seen them go over very well with really young ska crowds... so I got them in touch with Danny to give the Syracuse scene a shot. Half their band is younger than me, so you should try to get the 'old people trying to be funky' thing out of your head. I recommend seeing them live before you make any judgements... they are phenomenal musicians and Mandy is one of the best female leads I've ever seen.

Heh I don't mean to judge or be mean those are just the impressions I get from looking at their website and myspace. If other people express interest then we'll definatly get them in Syracuse. So far I don't see the appeal but that's just me without seeing them. Hope I didn't offend you or something.

While we were there, we started an interesting word game. It goes like this: Take the word “masturbate” and replace the “-bate” with a rhyming word to create a new word. For instance: If you were to jerk-off while being shipped across country, you would “mastur-freight”. Get it? Here’s another: if you were to jerk-off with cheese shredder you would mastur-grate. Here’s a list of all that we came up with… If you can think of any others, please let us know!

wow.... just wow
