They've been doing "3 floors of ska" at the Knitting Factory in NYC for awhile now and it occurred to me recently that while we might not be able to do that much in Syracuse, we could easily do 2 floors of ska. Like rent both floors of the Westcott and put all the mellower acts upstairs.

It'd cost more, but hey, we could let in more kids too.

Mezzanotte has 2 floors as well.

Does this idea interest anyone??

Mezzanotte would be perfect for this. The upstairs stage is good for bigger bands while the downstairs area is more "intimate". This would be a great idea i think. I say get someone who DJ's reggae or ska to spin discs in between sets and after the show for a more "Late night" lounge type thing also. who knows. Regardless, Mezzanotte is a great place for shows in general I feel. Great place, good people go there cause there is typically good music and you gotta go outta your way to get there instead of the typical armory square establishment.

go go gergie signing off.

I've never been to Mezzanote. Any shows I've ever wanted to go to there have always been 21+. I've tried worming my way in a couple times, but it never works. Would they even let us do something like that there during regular bar hours?

But yeah, I think that's a great idea. If fact, I think it would kick some major arse.

It would suck if it was 21+ but nice idea. It would be hard to get the bands that the knitting factory does for their shows though.

Mezzanotte has already proven time and again they'll do all ages shows, but only during non-prime drinking hours and of course, for a healthy fee.

I never assumed for a moment we'd get comparable bands to the NYC shows. At least, not all of them on one show.
